On May 23, Jin10 reported that OpenAI announced an acquisition of the AI device startup io for nearly $6.5 billion, marking its entry into the hardware sector. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo stated that the new form of AI hardware devices resulting from the collaboration between OpenAI and io is expected to enter mass production in 2027, with assembly anticipated to take place in Vietnam. Currently, the appearance of the device sample is slightly larger than the AI Pin, and its design is as small and exquisite as the iPod Shuffle. One way to use this device is to hang it around the neck.
