The operating rate of the corn starch industry has decreased month-on-month and year-on-year. It is expected that starting next week, some companies will enter the Spring Festival maintenance phase.
According to data from Mysteel’s agricultural products survey, recently some areas in North China have been affected by environmental inspections, leading to a slight decline in the operating rates of certain enterprises. The industry-wide operating rate has decreased both month-on-month and week-on-week. It is expected that starting next week, some enterprises will enter the Spring Festival maintenance phase, and a continued decline in operating rates is anticipated. This week (January 29 to February 4, 2026), the total nationwide corn processing volume was 614,100 tons, a decrease of 17,200 tons from the previous week; the weekly nationwide corn starch production was 316,200 tons, down 12,100 tons from the previous week; the weekly operating rate was 57.79%, a decrease of 2.2% compared to last week.
