Shanghai Securities News China Securities Network News (Reporter Yu Liyan): On February 9th, the first mass-produced version of the BotZhi 4X Robotaxi officially rolled off the production line. This milestone marks the beginning of large-scale production and operation for Pony.ai in strategic cooperation with Toyota China and GAC Toyota, and also demonstrates the collaborative advantages among the three parties in autonomous driving technology, vehicle manufacturing, and supply chain management.

Pony.ai Vice President Mo Luyi stated, “The mass production of the BotZhi 4X Robotaxi represents a critical leap from technological breakthroughs to mass production in our three-party collaboration, providing a solid platform for deploying and applying our autonomous driving technology. The development of Pony.ai’s Robotaxi has continuously deepened our partnership with Toyota. Our capabilities in handling complex scenarios in first-tier cities like Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen are highly complementary to Toyota’s extensive experience in vehicle manufacturing, quality management, and mass production systems.”

This collaboration sets a new example of deep integration between automakers and autonomous driving technology companies and will help accelerate Toyota’s vision of “Mobility for All” in the Chinese market. Pony.ai, Toyota China, and GAC Toyota will continue to deepen strategic cooperation, fully build an end-to-end “R&D-manufacturing-operations” system, and systematically promote the rapid development of autonomous mobility services.

The BotZhi 4X Robotaxi production line is jointly built by GAC Toyota, which operates Toyota’s global model factory, and Pony.ai.

The BotZhi 4X Robotaxi is equipped with Pony.ai’s latest seventh-generation autonomous driving passenger vehicle system. This system integrates Pony.ai’s long-term validated technology capabilities in complex environments in first-tier cities like Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen, and has been systematically optimized for various operational scenarios, achieving multiple key results.

The joint venture between Pony.ai, Toyota China, and GAC Toyota plans to deploy thousands of BotZhi 4X Robotaxis by 2026 and operate them in first-tier cities across China, providing more users with safe, convenient, and efficient autonomous mobility services.
