According to Yuyuan Tan Tian, on February 11th, China successfully conducted a low-altitude demonstration verification of the Long March 10 launch vehicle system and the maximum dynamic pressure escape flight test of the Mengzhou crewed spacecraft system at the Wenchang Space Launch Site.

In the footage, the first stage of the Long March 10 launch vehicle did not land on the net recovery platform at sea, but splashed down in the nearby waters. Some netizens claimed this was a “failure” of the mission.

An insider involved in the launch mission stated that the planned theoretical landing point for this test was not the platform itself, but rather an area near the sea recovery platform, considering recovery costs and other factors.

The insider mentioned that this demonstrates China’s recovery technology precision, and in the future, it will be possible to achieve accurate control of the rocket’s landing point.
