Ministry of Foreign Affairs: No matter who the Japanese leader is or which political party is in power, they must adhere to the four political documents between China and Japan.
At the routine press conference of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on February 9, a reporter asked whether there are opinions that China’s recent tough stance towards Japan has influenced the results of yesterday’s Japanese general election. What is China’s comment on this? Lin Jian stated that China never interferes in other countries’ internal affairs and firmly opposes any actions that interfere in China’s internal affairs, infringe upon China’s core interests, violate international law and the basic norms of international relations, or undermine regional peace and stability. He emphasized that our policy towards Japan is clear, stable, and consistent. Regardless of who the Japanese leaders are or which political party is in power, they must abide by the four political documents between China and Japan, as well as Japan’s Peace Constitution, and fulfill their commitments and international obligations.
