The Espresso Foundation announced that the ESP token has officially launched today, and Espresso Network has transitioned from a centralized phase to a permissionless proof-of-stake (PoS) mechanism, allowing anyone to participate in network security through staking. Official disclosures show that since the mainnet launch in November 2024, Espresso has confirmed over 65 million blocks across 9 integrated chains. The current average time to finalize a Rollup block is 6 seconds, with plans to achieve sub-second latency by 2026. The foundation also stated that 10% of the total supply of 3.59 billion ESP will be allocated for community airdrops to incentivize early supporters.
