Deep Tide TechFlow News, February 12 — According to Fortune, the latest research from the nonpartisan Tax Foundation shows that the Trump administration’s tariff policies are offsetting the economic benefits of its tax cuts. The study finds that the average American household’s tariff burden will be $1,000 in 2025, expected to rise to $1,300 in 2026, surpassing the $1,000 average tax refund.

Erica York, Vice President of the Tax Foundation, stated that tariffs are undermining the potential of the new tax law to provide relief to taxpayers and promote economic growth. The study predicts that between 2025 and 2034, tariffs will net an additional $1.9 trillion in revenue, while tax cuts will reduce revenue by $4.1 trillion. Analysis indicates that 96% of the tariff burden falls on U.S. importers and consumers, leading to higher prices and slower income growth.
