According to sources from HashChain, xAI co-founder Wu Yuhui (@Yuhu_ai_) posted on the X platform to confirm that he has left xAI on the same day. He stated that he will begin the next chapter of his life and emphasized, “In the AI era, small teams can also create disruptive impact with the help of AI.” This statement is widely interpreted as his next step being involved in an AI startup project.
Wu Yuhui is a PhD student under Geoffrey Hinton and has previously worked at Google, DeepMind, and OpenAI (briefly). During his time at xAI, he was regarded as a key driver behind the reasoning capabilities of the Grok series.
