Deep Tide TechFlow News, February 11 — According to CoinDesk, Joe Lubin, founder and CEO of ConsenSys, stated in an interview at Consensus Hong Kong 2026 that “blue-chip” decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols are now comparable in security to traditional finance. Lubin believes that global banks are “depreciating” and becoming less secure, and he predicts that by 2026, there will be a true breakthrough in the DeFi space.

Regarding Bitcoin, Lubin has a different view. He mentioned that “Q Day” (the potential moment when quantum computers could break current cryptographic technology) poses an “existential threat” to Bitcoin. He personally thinks this day is still far off, but artificial intelligence will accelerate technological development. Lubin stated that Ethereum will soon be in a good position, while other blockchains may face serious technical challenges and systemic risks in the future.
