On February 10th, local time, Russian President Vladimir Putin sent a congratulatory letter to Russian diplomats. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov read Putin’s congratulatory letter at the celebration of Diplomatic Workers’ Day that day.

In the congratulatory letter, Putin stated that amid increasing global turbulence and tense regional situations, Russia’s active, constructive, and consensus-building diplomacy is becoming increasingly important. Russia will continue to fully utilize all diplomatic resources and means to effectively safeguard national security, protect legitimate national interests, and create a favorable external environment for Russia’s comprehensive and steady development.

Putin pointed out in the letter that the absolute priority of Russian diplomacy remains to further strengthen friendly relations with the closest allies and neighboring countries in the Commonwealth of Independent States, and to promote Eurasian integration. At the same time, deepening partnership cooperation with most countries in the world and promoting the construction of a multipolar world order based on the principles of international law, security, equality, and indivisibility remains an urgent task.
