Japan Producer Prices Rise the Least in 20 Months

Japan’s producer prices rose 2.3% year-on-year in January 2026, slightly easing from a 2.4% increase in the previous month and matching market expectations. This marked the slowest annual rise since May 2024. On a monthly basis, producer inflation edged up to 0.2% from the softest pace in four months of 0.1% in December, in line with forecasts.
