The Manhattan federal court has decided: Luigi Mangione will not face the death penalty for the murder of health insurance CEO Brian Thompson. Judge Margaret Garnett dismissed two of the four charges that could have led to the maximum penalty, thereby reducing the potential legal consequences. Mangione will now face a much harsher sentence: life imprisonment without the possibility of parole. The federal court's decision, announced in recent days, represents a significant change in the legal proceedings. Although the death penalty has been excluded, Luigi Mangione remains under serious charges for the alleged crime, with still very heavy legal prospects ahead.
