Despite it being the weekend, Mexico City is facing multiple street closures due to an intense day of protests and blockades in CDMX. Protests, marches, and blockades: event schedule
According to the SSC Mobilization Agenda, on that Saturday there was one march, 10 protests with blockades, and 2 vehicle caravans at different points in the capital. The blockades in CDMX would start early in the morning with gatherings at various sites:
At 09:00 AM, two locations would simultaneously carry out activities: the Holy Spirit Parish in the Montes Cáucaso area and at Ocean of Storms No. 60 (Selene neighborhood, Tláhuac), as well as the Peripheral Ring at the intersection of Canal de Garay and Eje 6 Sur Av. Luis Méndez (Chinampac de Juárez neighborhood, Iztapalapa).
Starting at 10:00 AM, blockades were expected at three locations: the Franciscan Refuge A.C. on Mexico-Toluca Highway Km. 17.5 (Lomas de Vista Hermosa, Cuajimalpa); the headquarters of Section IX of the National Coordinator of Education Workers at Belisario Domínguez No. 32 (Downtown, Cuauhtémoc), and the Comprehensive Attention Center for Search of Persons at Av. Niños Héroes No. 130 (Doctors neighborhood, Cuauhtémoc).
At noon (12:00 PM), gatherings would move to historic public spaces: Tlaxcoaque Square in Fray Servando Teresa de Mier (Downtown, Cuauhtémoc) and San Carlos Square at the corner of Ignacio Mariscal and Miguel Ramos Arizpe (Tabacalera, Cuauhtémoc).
At 1:00 PM, a new blockade in CDMX would occur at Av. Río Churubusco and Añil (Granjas México, Iztacalco).
In the afternoon (2:00 PM), two additional gathering sites: “Francisco Primo de Verdad y Ramos” Park in Rinconada de Jesús and Av. José María Pino Suárez (Downtown, Cuauhtémoc) and the Angel of Independence at Av. Paseo de la Reforma and Florencia (Juárez, Cuauhtémoc).
Throughout the day, a gathering would also take place at the Government Secretariat (Plaza de la Constitución No. 1, Historic Center, Cuauhtémoc).
Scheduled vehicle caravans in CDMX
The vehicle caravans would represent a different mode of mobilization. These would be carried out during nighttime hours:
At 8:00 PM, a caravan would depart from Francisco I. Madero Recreational Park located at Av. Circunvalación and Tapicería (Morelos, Venustiano Carranza).
At 8:30 PM, a second caravan would gather at Súper Plaza “La Viga” at Calz. de la Viga No. 1150 (Apatlaco, Iztapalapa).
These caravans would extend the scope of blockades in CDMX well into the night, affecting mobility in the eastern boroughs of the capital.
