Optimism plans to allocate 6,400 ETH to a liquid staking protocol

Optimism Governance has decided to allocate a portion of its digital assets to a new staking strategy. According to the plan announced by the protocol, this will be an important step toward future protocol management and strengthening community stability.

Asset Allocation Strategy by the Governance Layer

As part of the financial policy of the Optimism Collective, the community’s optimal asset allocation is being advanced. According to ChainCatcher’s report, this allocation is positioned as part of Optimism’s multi-chain strategy.

Specifically, approximately 6,400 ETH, equivalent to 40% of the assets managed by Optimism, is scheduled to be allocated to a liquid staking protocol on OP Mainnet. The remaining 60% will continue to be used for native staking on the Ethereum mainnet.

Two-Stage Staking Structure

This allocation method reflects Optimism’s strategy to utilize assets across multiple blockchain environments. Through liquid staking, the protocol can maintain flexibility while also ensuring profitability.

Based on the specifications of the published Liquid Staking RFP, Optimism is promoting this policy. Liquid staking on OP Mainnet is also expected to improve convenience for participants.
