AMD yes! CPU sales and revenue both hit record highs

TechNews February 12: Q4 2025 is undoubtedly a highlight for AMD, with both the EPYC and Ryzen CPU product lines reaching record highs in revenue and market share.

According to Mercury Research, AMD’s CPU market share has been steadily increasing, reaching its highest shipment volume and revenue by the end of 2025.

In Q4 2025, AMD desktop CPU shipment share was 36.4%, revenue share was 42.6%, a year-over-year increase of 14.6 percentage points, and a quarter-over-quarter increase of 1.6 percentage points, both record highs.

Similar to the desktop segment, AMD’s mobile CPU business also achieved a 3.3 percentage point year-over-year growth, with a market share of 26.0% and revenue share of 24.9%.

Currently, AMD’s mobile lineup is extensive, covering entry-level, mainstream, and high-end Ryzen AI MAX series. With the ongoing release of the latest Ryzen AI 400 and Ryzen AI MAX series, their market share is expected to continue rising.

Finally, let’s look at AMD’s server market share. Its revenue share increased by 4.9 percentage points year-over-year and 1.8 percentage points quarter-over-quarter, reaching 41.3% this quarter.

Server shipment share is currently 28.8%, rapidly approaching 30%. AMD’s Genoa and Turin CPUs comprise the majority, with a significant supply of older chips still available. Additionally, AMD’s next-generation Venice CPU based on Zen 6 architecture is set to be released later this year.

Specifically:

Server revenue share increased by 4.9 percentage points year-over-year and 1.8 percentage points quarter-over-quarter, reaching a record 41.3%.

Customer revenue share grew by 7.4 percentage points year-over-year and 3.0 percentage points quarter-over-quarter, reaching 31.2%.

Desktop revenue share increased by 14.6 percentage points year-over-year and 1.6 percentage points quarter-over-quarter, reaching 42.6%.

Laptop revenue share grew by 3.3 percentage points both year-over-year and quarter-over-quarter, reaching 24.9%.

Overall revenue share increased by 6.8 percentage points year-over-year and 2.9 percentage points quarter-over-quarter, reaching 35.4%.

In total, AMD’s client Ryzen CPU market share is 29.2% by shipment and 31.2% by revenue, up 3.0 and 7.4 percentage points respectively from last year.

AMD’s overall CPU market share is 29.2% by shipment and 35.4% by revenue, an increase of 2.9 and 6.8 percentage points respectively compared to the previous year.
