Huazhu Club Responds to Interview: Has Initiated a Comprehensive Self-Inspection and Rectification, Will Regularly Announce Member Rights Protection Status
On February 11, regarding the issue of potentially unfair standard clauses in the Huazhu Club Member Service Agreement, the Beijing Consumers Association interviewed the operator of Huazhu Club—Hanting Starry Sky (Shanghai) Hotel Management Co., Ltd. It explicitly pointed out that the company’s relevant clauses may involve the exclusion or restriction of consumers’ main rights, damaging consumers’ legitimate interests, and demanded a comprehensive self-inspection and deadline for rectification.
In response, a relevant person in charge of Huazhu Club told Securities Daily that Huazhu Club attaches great importance to and sincerely accepts the supervision and guidance of the Beijing Consumers Association. Protecting consumers’ legitimate rights and interests has always been Huazhu Club’s primary principle.
According to the introduction, currently, Huazhu Group has immediately launched a comprehensive self-inspection and rectification of the relevant user agreements and is working to quickly adjust the arbitration jurisdiction provisions.
The aforementioned person in charge stated that Huazhu Club promises to optimize and improve the user feedback mechanism, regularly publish the status of member rights protection, and further improve the consumption environment.
