Mars Finance News: U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Chair Paul Atkins posted on X stating that during his testimony before Congress, he outlined the SEC’s three main priorities beyond 2026: focusing on fraud investigation and investor protection, reforming disclosure rules, and providing a clear regulatory framework for digital assets. Atkins said that the SEC will protect investors through targeted enforcement and cross-border enforcement teams, while also emphasizing the need to modernize, rationalize, and streamline the reporting system to make it substantively meaningful and easy to understand for investors. In the digital asset space, Atkins acknowledged that establishing a clear regulatory framework for cryptocurrencies has been “too late,” and stated that as Congress advances related legislation, the SEC will collaborate with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission through “Project Crypto” to clarify regulatory obligations for investors and innovators. Previously, the SEC chair was questioned about the issue of relaxing cryptocurrency regulation.
